Can acupuncture help PMDD?
In one woman with severe PMDD, symptoms improved during acupuncture treatment but returned when she stopped. It's unclear whether acupuncture truly caused the improvement.
What they did
Described one woman with severe PMDD who received acupuncture treatment.
What they found
Her symptoms got better during the periods when she was having acupuncture and got worse again when acupuncture was stopped.
What it means for you
Acupuncture might help some women with PMDD, but from one case it's impossible to know if it really works or if something else caused the improvement. The main limitation is that this is a single case without a control group.
