Does cabbage leaf compress reduce breast pain in women with PMS?
Yes. Women who applied cabbage leaf compress for 3 days had a clear decrease in breast pain, while women who received no treatment did not.
What they did
Quasi-experimental study. 32 women aged 18-35 with PMS and cyclical breast pain were divided into two groups. One group applied cabbage leaf compress for 3 days; the other received no treatment. Pain was measured before and after using a standard pain scale.
What they found
The group using cabbage leaf compress had a clear decrease in pain. The control group showed no meaningful change.
What it means for you
Cabbage leaf compress may help reduce breast pain in women with PMS. The study is small and the control group knew they were not receiving treatment, which could affect results. This limits our confidence in the finding.
