Is the Turkish version of a tool for measuring how women cope with premenstrual symptoms valid and reliable?
Yes. The Turkish version of the Premenstrual Change Coping Inventory is a valid and reliable tool for measuring how women cope with premenstrual symptoms.
What they did
The study tested a Turkish translation of the Premenstrual Change Coping Inventory with 170 women between November 2018 and May 2019. Researchers checked if the translation was accurate, if it measured what it was supposed to measure, and if it gave consistent results.
What they found
The Turkish version had three sub-dimensions just like the original scale. All items correlated well with each other. The Cronbach alpha coefficient was 0.86.
What it means for you
The Turkish version can now be used to measure how women cope with premenstrual symptoms. The main limit is that this study only tested the tool itself, not whether it works for all Turkish-speaking women with PMS.
