What do young women with PMS food cravings need?
This survey of 30 young women with PMS food cravings found an absence of counseling services to support them. The study suggests that developing counseling services and focusing on eating wholesome foods and getting rest should be priorities in treating PMS food cravings.
What they did
Survey of 30 women aged 18-25 in India about food cravings during their menstrual cycle, using a questionnaire with 30 questions. The study excluded women who were unwilling or did not cooperate.
What they found
The survey found no counseling services available for these young women. The study noted their patterns of eating wholesome foods and getting rest.
What it means for you
The study suggests that counseling and focus on wholesome food and rest should be part of treating young women's PMS food cravings. This is a small study in one location in India, so results may not apply to all young women.
