Can ozone therapy reduce PMS symptoms?
In 5 women with PMS, inflammation markers decreased and infections were reduced with ozone therapy combined with diet changes. Women reported improvement.
What they did
5 women with PMS were treated with ozone therapy (rectal, uterine, and cervical applications) plus an anti-inflammatory diet and supplements between October 2018 and August 2019. Inflammation markers and infections in the genital area were measured at the start, middle, and end of treatment.
What they found
Two inflammation markers in the uterus decreased in all 5 women (100%), indicating reduced inflammation and clinical improvement. Intestinal infections (Candida and gram-negative bacteria) found in the genital area were also reduced.
What it means for you
This suggests ozone therapy might reduce uterine inflammation and infection. Main limitations: only 5 women studied, no comparison group, and the researchers say more trials are needed.
